The Reason Behind My Spending Ban...

Now as you would know if you either follow my personal Instagram, on Twitter or if you read my last blogpost then you would know that I was recently in America for three weeks and slipped up in quite a few shops, oops.

Now I use the term 'Spending ban' quite loosely, I haven't got quite that much dedication to be able to not shop especially with my favourite season just around the corner but instead I mean: 'Try and steer clear of MAC unless a purchase is absolutely necessary or easily justified.' It probably won't last long...

First off I just want to say if you are from the UK like me, I'm not sure how easy it is to get your hands on 'Giddy' as I can only find it on the US site so I'm sorry if it is only available in America. You can however purchase in a few different places such as on amazon if you are eager to get your hands on it.

I only bought three MAC lipsticks whilst I was in Florida and I was brought one for my birthday so I picked up 'D for Danger' which is a deep red colour, absolutely perfect for Autumn, 'Twig' Which is more of a dark nude which I absolutely adore so if velvet teddy is too light for you, Twig is a really lovely nude and is very similar in colour, just slightly darker so that might be worth looking into. I also picked up 'Giddy' which is my first ever lustre finish from MAC, I feel like it would be perfect if you prefer more natural lipstick or want something subtle for either school or everyday wear as it just leaves a really pretty pick sheen on the lips; I use it more for highlighting the middle part of my lips to create a fuller look.

Alice, who I have mentioned about 100 times here before, was the one to kindly give me a beautiful MAC lipstick for my birthday. She asked one of the shop assistants to pick out a colour for me and she chose the shade 'mehr'. Unfortunately, without knowing, I bought 'Twig' whilst on holiday which is very close in colour so I was able to exchange it for the colour 'New York Apple' which is a frost finish and looks really pretty on the lips and once again, a perfect colour for Autumn and Winter.

I haven't been able to get swatches of these on the lips but the swatches shown here shows them very similar to what they look like when worn. New York apple is shown as quite a light red here though but it isn't in person and is just slightly lighter than 'D for Danger' but is still just as stunning.

Have you bought any new MAC lipsticks recently? What colours should I try next?
