The Girl in the Pink Coat

When it gets to that point between seasons and the shops haven't decided if they are devoted to winter or spring, my style gets a little bit same same, so this is my current outfit of choice.

Coat | Primark
Scarf | Similar here and here.
Jumper | Primark
Jeans | Topshop
Boots | Similar here
Bag | New look

I love this coat as it is so big and warm and I got it for an absolute bargain of £25 at the beginning of December so it might still be in your local Primark or may have even gone in the sale. I think they also had it is pastel blue, grey and tan, which is the one I originally wanted, but the pink one is still lovely. It does come up quite oversized so when I originally tried on my usual coat size, it completely drowned me so watch out for that!

My hair and makeup also gets a little bit same same which at the moment is chucked up in a ballerina bun (I think this the right terminology?) at the back of my head along with a simple makeup look and a bit of eyeliner. I promise it is a stage I am trying to come out of (even though I am sitting here with my hair and makeup exactly like that.)

(Cute little outtake of me with a dog. Unfortunately not my dog might I just sadly add)

My Top five Blogging reads.

Everyone has their favourite blogs to read but sometimes you just want to reach out and find some new blogs. One running theme through this post is my love for the photography featured on the blog and I think the main selling point for me is photography as I love nothing better than flicking through a bright and beautiful blog on a bad day, So I have created my top five favourite blogs that I would recommend to you! So we had better get cracking...

In my opinion, Anna doesn't just write the stereotypical beauty blog content such as a review of this and a makeup look with that, She goes into detail and doesn't just focus on one product in each post (If that makes any sense at all?) Her daily makeup tips and tricks really do come in handy and I love reading the weekly round up at the end of each week with new releases and current thoughts.

This is my current favourite blog. With amazing style and photography, it really is a winner. From picturesque views of Amsterdam or cute little boutiques in the heart of paris each accompanied by an amazingly put together outfit there isn't really much not to love.

This is my most recently discovered blog. I fell in love with this blog mostly because of the stunning photography, Everything is so bright and bold and pretty and even though my wardrobe mostly consists of three main colours - Grey, Black and White, it is always nice to see something a bit more colourful. I love flicking through the pages when I'm having a bad day as they really pick me up.

Kavita's blog also has pretty amazing photography of her amazing fashion style or her most recent travelling experience. She just seems to always be updating her travel diary! Whether it's style or travel, Kavita's blog covers all with the odd beauty post here and there. She really does make you want to experiment with he pieces that are currently hanging in your wardrobe.

I am obsessed with Sammi's style and I take a lot of my inspiration from her! I love all of her outfit posts and this is probably my all time favourite blog and I discovered her through her amazing youtube channel a few years ago. Plus, She has two gorgeous dogs so that is clearly another selling point!

Getting Organised.

Was it your new years resolution to get organised or do you just want some tips to add to your collection of organising knowledge? Well look no further, I am here to help!

Stationary is key and I write lists for everything. You will see me writing a to-do list in any and every spare second whether it is on my phone while sitting on the tube or on a scrap piece of paper during a lesson. They help me so much and I couldn't be without them!
My current to-do list pad is from a designer called Jonathan Adler which is my new obsession! Last night I sat in bed and wrote my to do list on this note pad and then wrote on the 'Plan of attack' notepad in the bottom right hand corner. I always feel like having nice stationary really makes you want to write in it.

Calendars. Whether you like to be organised on paper or on a piece of technology, You always need a calendar. I have only started using calendars this year for my school, home and work life but they have helped me so much. In the past, I have bought a calendar or a diary but have only really used it for the first few months but since getting my new laptop I have written most of my events on there using the blue for home life and the purple for work. I also have an academic diary which I have started using instead of my boring school planner as it's much better quality and I actually want to use it (mainly because it's pink!)

Another thing I do is stick post it notes everywhere! I used to do this a lot more before I picked up a proper to do list pad but I still do this when I only have a couple of things to do. I write what I need to do on a post it note and stick it either on my dressing table mirror, on the side of my wardrobe or on the wall in my office where I can easily see each item and to remind me of the things I need to do, then once each task has been completed, I pull the post it note off and throw it away so you can gradually see your jobs list getting smaller.

I planned on this post being a lot longer but that's it really. I don't do a lot in the main 'organising department' but whatever I do, it really helps! What do you do to organise? If you have any tips on organising then please tell me in the comments as I would love to hear about them and I'm sure other people would too!

This year...

Do you believe that a new year means a new you? I haven't completely decided my answer to this but it can be a new beginning for many people. A chance to change and turn over a new leaf. Obviously this posts comes slightly late as it is now the 12th of January but the old saying 'There is no time like the present' means you don't have to wait until next year if you didn't set yourself any goals for this year or you broke them on the 1st of January.

I haven't set myself any 'resolutions' this year, instead I set myself some goals to try and achieve this year. This means that I am not so fixed on sticking to them and if I mess them up one day then I know it won't matter so much in the long run.

Many peoples goals (mine included) are things like: losing weight or becoming more organised but I also want to add some in like caring less about what other people think and being more independent. I want to try new things, meet new people and see more of the world. This year for me is the year I will make so many new memories. I leave school this year and hopefully head off to college opening a new chapter in my life and getting to meet so many new people with the same interests as me. I will do my exams and have prom. Go to America in the Summer where I will be spending my 16th birthday and just finding time in general to create new memories with my friends or family that I can look back on in years to come and think of all the amazing things I did.

I don't want to waste another year! I want to go outside of my Comfort zone and end this year looking back and smiling! Don't be afraid, just go out there and do something!
